Snuggles!

Reading stories this morning. Sunshine can't read yet, but she knows her letters so she'll spell out all of the words in the book.

And I finished piecing my first quilt. It'll look so nice on her bed once I quilt and bind it!

Sharing?

Aralynn spends most of the day taking toys from her brother. Mostly his toys, because apparently baby toys are cooler than toddler toys. She finally left him alone and ran off to get a book while he played with ball in peace.

Still sick

Pretty sure it's a sinus infection that we're fighting. I just know it's not fun. But I do have a fabulous husband who actually let me take a much needed nap this afternoon.

My sick girl...
My playful boy...
You can tell immobility is really starting to bug him. I fear it won't be long before I have a crawler on my hands!

Sick day

So that brings me to today. Sunshine and I both woke up sick. We slept until 11:30 this morning other than a brief break from 6:45 until probably 9ish. Boogie pooped started crying when I changed his diaper and we couldn't get him to stop. I'm seriously getting sick of the hours on end of crying. Every night for the last week or so he's squalled for 3 + hours straight and nothing will calm him. Not even boobie. I thought that was the fail-safe cure-all!

My sick girl sacked out on the couch next to Daddy. He makes a good pillow. It didn't last long, but it was cute!
Brother's climbing over her because she kept taking his ball, and he wanted to play with it.

Catchup time!

So here goes, pics and such from the last few days...

Friday at gymnastics

Our crazy adventure Friday night...
Hubby is a soccer coach. He's got two U12 teams - boys and girls. The two teams were in an indoor soccer tournament this past weekend. We were planning to drive up Saturday morning stay the night and come home after the tournament Sunday. As the weekend got closer, there was a major snowstorm in the forecast late Friady night and early Sturday morning. So, we decided to try to head over the mountain before the storm rolled in. Never a good idea because it usually doesn't work. He had talked to his team manager and they told him they had already gone over and everything was fine and that three other girls were on their way as well. So we decided to go. We drove straight into the storm. Asheville, NC to Greeneville, TN is a pretty straight shot north, around an hour, maybe a little less. You have to go over a pretty steep mountain to get across the state line though so it curves on the way up and then it curves back down. We were lucky to hit 10 MPH on the way there. The highway was covered with a thick layer of snow and it was windy and coming down so hard that you could barely see anything in front of you.
As we were leaving the house, Boogie Man fell asleep, I was so relieved until 30 minutes into the drive, just as we're starting to hit bad weather he wakes up. Understatement of the year: The boy HATES his carseat. So, we endured a 3 1/2 hour drive in the dark, over a mountain, through a blizzard with a screaming baby and a toddler singing Jingle Bells at the top of her lungs in an effort to cheer him up. At least we got a good story, right? Oh yeah, and I almost forgot an hour into the drive (dark, on top of the mountain, nowhere to stop...) Sunshine starts fussing because she's "oh sopping wet" a chant which she repeats over and over most of the trip. About the time we make it to the TN line she announces that her shirt is "oh sopping wet." We finally arrive at the hotel and sure enough, her diaper has leaked so bad that the entire back of her skirt and shirt are drenched. Poor girl.

How she fell asleep Friday night...

Saturday was the girls' tournament. This was the road we had to take to get there. The City of Greeneville did not get their salt shipment before the storm came in so they had no way of clearing the roads. They were trying  to scrap, but it was just packing the snow down even more and making it slicker and icier to drive on.

She kept leaning over the wall and yelling at Daddy. "Hey Daddy, hey! Look, I gotta pretzel. Daddy! Hey!" It was the cutest thing ever! She'd get really excited whenever someone would score too. She was stomping and jumping up and down and yelling "GOOOOOAAAAL!"

Sunday we had the boys' tournament. Hunter got to sit in a highchair for the first time at lunch. He was so excited to see what was going on!

And yesterday we went "sliding in a 'now" as my sweet Sunshiney girl would say. She is absolutely fearless!
The first thing she said when I went to get her up yesterday morning was "Mommy, it snowed; I'm gonna go make a snowman!"
